How to reach Taiwan's hot springs
Taipei MRT red line to Beitou/Xinbeitou, possibly the easiest hot-spring access on earth. Wulai is a bus ride south.
Where Taiwan's springs cluster
- Beitou — The thermal valley: public baths, the open-air free foot pools, and the Hot Spring Museum.
Best time to visit
October–April for the steamiest contrast. Summer is hot and typhoon-prone.
Good to know
The free public foot-bath pools in Beitou Park are a perfect introduction. For full baths, the public bathhouse is excellent value; the private hotel baths are the splurge. Our Taiwan coverage is growing, Beitou is just the start.
